Why plant native plants?
Biodevirsity
Native plants are the only thing that can support native ecosystems. In the absence of native plants, there can be no ecosystems and there can be no life at your property. Without a foundation of a food web there cannot be anything above it. If there is no food chain, there can be no life, and your bright green manicured lawn turns into a desert
Wildlife
If you want to attract wildlife such as birds and butterflies you must acquire the plants they live off of. If an insect has nothing to eat at your property, then why would it stay there. By planting native plants, you are providing the food and habitat that insects, birds, and other animals need to survive. All you have to do is plant it. If you plant it, they will come.
